Weird dream

This is what I can remember and piece together...

I was walking around this neighborhood on what I think was a newspaper route, collecting people's money for the week. I stopped at this house where some kids were playing outside, and the mother was begging me through tears to please give her more time to pay. I told her I would, and went back to my collecting.

I turned on my MP3 player, and Stryper's "Honestly" was playing. I remember thinking in the dream that it was a good song to play as I walked off into the horizon, having done my good deed for the lady on my route. In regards to the MP3 player, in addition to having headphones, there were apparently also external speakers, because I remember turning it up so everyone could hear it as I walked by. The MP3 player also had some kind of carrying handle coming out the bottom, but upon further inspection, it was a pair of detachable nunchuks, yellow plastic with black electrical tape wrapped around to make stripes. Yes...Stryper nunchuks. Go figure.

All of a sudden, Stryper's "Soldiers Under Command" started playing, and I found myself walking through the halls of some school, where I saw ninjas dressed in the obligatory black outfits, complete with masks, bullying the children. Naturally, I began dispatching them with my yellow and black nunchuks, as "Soldiers Under Command" blared through the halls.

The last ninja I encountered didn't have a mask, but I didn't recognize him. I rarely recognize anyone in my dreams...it's almost like I just make up random people in my mind. Anyway, I don't remember exactly what he said, but he essentially told me I couldn't hurt him, and he was right. He didn't fight back, but nothing I did seemed to phase him. I used the 'chuks on him...nothing. I gave him a couple good belts in the face with my fists...nothing. I knocked him down and beat his head against the floor...nothing.

And that's about the time I woke up, and as usual with my dreams, I said "What...the...hell..."

Newspaper routes, Stryper, ninjas and nunchuks...I am officially insane.

Helluva dream, dude! With all the Stryper references, maybe it's a calling. Several years back I toyed with the idea of whether one could be a "christian assassin"... I came to the conclusion that I'm not capable of the mental gymnastics required. Still, every dream is a holy writ from the gods, and must be obeyed or else we risk their ire (and being transmogrified into statues of sheep made from peanut butter.) Go out and work terror and destruction on the evil ones, knowing that out there, somewhere is He Who Cannot Be Stopped... (um, on second thought, maybe you should keep the fighting to the dreamlands... just in case :-)
